'Model T Club Tours'

The Southern California Model T Car Club stopped at the Prospect Historic Hotel where they spent the night on Thursday, Sept. 15. There were 24 Model T's with 49 members on a "Taste of Oregon" tour. Prospect was one of several Oregon stops. The 1200 mile trip began and ended in Astoria. They followed the Columbia River, then toured through Central Oregon and Crater Lake before arriving in Prospect. From Prospect they headed to Cave Junction and then back to Astoria.

Ranging from 1912 to 1927, the 24 cars are part of an estimated one million-plus Model T's still on the road. Several of the vehicles have crossed the United States a few times. Members on this tour came from Colorado, Montana, California and, of course, Oregon.

Organizer Ted VanBeek said the Prospect Hotel with its fine dining and hospitality was "the best stop of their tour."
